Le Service de Sécurité Incendie de Montréal (Montreal Fire Department)

As of January 1, 2002 as a result of the merger of all of the independent municipalities on the island of Montreal with the City of Montreal , there is one fire department for the whole of Montreal. Volunteer departments were replaced by career firefighters being reassigned from other parts of the territory.
The new department is the largest in the Province of Quebec, the second largest in Canada and the sixth largest in North America
We are very proud to have photographs of all working fire stations on the island of Montreal.
For posterity we are proudly presenting the stations and vehicles as they were before the merger as well as new and renovated stations.
